Beyond the last CFE pole

Off-Grid Solar Systems

Ranchos, beach lots, vineyard parcels and view property the grid never reached — or reaches so weakly it barely counts. We design fully independent solar systems that make the power company optional.

Built for the Baja off-grid reality

Off-grid isn't a grid-tie system minus the grid — it's a different engineering problem. Autonomy through June gloom, surge loads from well pumps, dust and salt on everything. We've designed for all of it.

☀️

Honest load analysis

Every off-grid design starts with a real inventory of your loads — refrigeration, pumping, mini-splits — not optimistic guesses that die in December.

🔋

Autonomy that fits

Battery banks sized for 1–2 cloudy days, with lithium chemistry that survives Baja heat and partial-charge cycling.

Generator integration

A small backup generator wired to auto-start only when truly needed — insurance you will rarely hear.

💧

Water pumping

Solar-direct and battery-backed well pumps for ranchos and vineyards — water security and energy security in one project.

Where we build off-grid

Most of our off-grid work runs from La Misión south through Punta Piedra, the Valle de Guadalupe wine country and the Punta Banda peninsula — anywhere the line ends and the good land begins. If your parcel has weak CFE service instead of none, a hybrid system gives you the same independence with the grid as backup.

Installed by certified electricians

Solar is only as good as its wiring. That's why every Solar 1 installation is managed by Gus at Baja Electrician — our #1 authorized installer — and carried out by his team of certified, insured electricians serving Rosarito, Tijuana and Ensenada, from panel upgrades to EV charger installation.

Frequently asked questions

Is off-grid cheaper than bringing in a CFE line?

Often, yes. CFE line extensions to rural parcels can run tens of thousands of dollars and take months or years. A well-designed off-grid system is frequently cheaper, installs in days, and has no monthly bill — permanently.

How big does an off-grid battery bank need to be?

We design for your loads plus 1–2 days of cloudy-weather autonomy. A modest rancho runs comfortably on 10–15 kWh of storage; a full-time off-grid home usually wants 20–30 kWh plus a small backup generator for the rare long gray stretch.

Can I start off-grid and connect to CFE later?

Yes — we design with hybrid inverters that accept a grid connection later, so if CFE ever reaches your parcel you can add net metering without replacing the system.
